Third grade and up are the accoountability grades.  So there is a strong temptation to focus on what's happening in those grades.


A student who never built stamina hits third grade, sees a hard question, and picks B just to be done. That stamina is built in pre-K, every time an adult waits and lets thier students work through something hard.
